The Kite Runner Pg. 311-343

Now Amir and Sohrab are in Peshawar. They are staying in a hotel that was is an improvement compared to the one in Kabul where Farid and Amir stayed. The sheets were clean and there was no bloodstains on the wall. Farid left them because he missed his family, Amir gave him two thousand dollars for all his help. It was just Amir and Sohrab now. Sohrab just sat on the bed watching t.v. not responding to Amir. They both fell asleep, and later that night, Amir woke up from a bad dream. He looked at Sohrab's bed and he was not there. He asked the hotel manager if he had seen him and the man would not even take the time to help. The man starts to think about his boys and how he would feel if he did not know where they are. He then tells Amir to think about where Sohrab would go, a place that fascinated him. Right away he thought about the mosque that Sohrab was looking at as they were driving to the hotel. The man told him that he would drive him there because he is a father like him. They found him sitting in a half empty parking lot about one hundred feet away from the mosque. Then Amir and Sohrab just sat alone talking about how much both of them missed their parents. Telling memories to each other. Sohrab said he is starting to forget how his parents looked like. Amir gave him the photo he had of Hassan and Sohrab. Sohrab kept it close to his heart. Sohrab now told Amir the reason why he never talked. He asked him if God would put him in hell for what he did to Aseef. He told him no.
Later that day, Amir asked him if Sohrab has an answer for his question about if he wanted to go and live in America with him and his wife. Sohrab said that it scares him because he fears that Amir's wife would not like him or if Amir would get tired of him. He told him he would never get tired of him, he promised. That same night Soraya called and asked about where he was because they have not spoken in weeks. As they were talking Amir told her everything, he even asked her if Sohrab can live with them. She immediately said yes, because he is family. You can not leave family in the streets. They both decided to legally adopt him so he can go to America with him.
Amir went to meet two different lawyers. The first one just told him to give up. He was a bitter man because he lost his daughter. She committed suicide. The other lawyer, Omar Faisal, told him it would be hard to adopt him legally because he needs death certificates of Sohrab's parents. He said he still had a chance, but it would be a hard process.
