Where I see myself in ten years:
Out of all the interviews, I can only relate to two of the students, even though I have different future plans. I kind of seem to relate to the girl that wants to become a hair and makeup artist. I do not plan on doing anything in that field, but she mentioned one thing that I relate to. She said that she is insecure and the reason that she wants to do hair so she can make someone else feel good about themselves. I have to admit, I am insecure sometimes. The other students that I related to is the guy that wants to be a school counselor. He mentioned that he wants people to know that he cares for them and what they have to say. I am the same. I care for everyone and listen to them if they need someone to listen. The most interesting student was the girl that planned on becoming a photographer. She knew what she wanted to do, even though it will not make her rich. It seems like she does not care about the money. The only aspect that matters to her is if she is living a stable life. The student that seems the most deluded was the girl that wants to become an actress. Not everyone can become famous so quickly. All the famous people worked hard and gradually got to the place they want to be at.
I do not know exactly where I want to be at in ten years. I know for a fact I am going to college to become something in the science field. I personally think that is the only field that guarantees success. Also, I hope to be married with my own family. But first I want to have a degree and then continue on. Honestly, being successful is my main priority. Sometimes I fear that I will not become as successful as I plan to be.
Soccer Player:
Indi is such a phenomenal soccer player. She has drive and courage to do what she is doing. Not all soccer players are able to do the freestyle tricks that she does, like the sole stall. “I could feel like excitement building in the auditorium.” She has such pride in herself and is proud of where she is in life. Even though she is not the most well known student in her high school, she does not mind. None of those people can do half the things she can do with that one soccer ball. Also, she is the only girl on the all boys soccer team. She wanted to be on the boys’ soccer team because they go at a much faster pace than the girls do. Honestly, I do not know one person that has that much passion for one thing. Yes, there are many musicians out there that have a passion for music, but she is different. She is extremely dedicated to soccer. Indi continuously practices a trick until she gets it perfect. In the video she mentions that if she knows she will not have time in the morning to practice soccer, she would wake up at five in the morning to practice. Indi also plays for herself, not to please anyone. She does not care what others think of her, she only cares about that one sport. I am surprised that no one knows her in her school. In her freestyle performance, when she was on her back while juggling the ball with her feet, the students said, “Who is she?” Usually when someone is that good at something, they are well known in the school for doing that something. I think it is great that she does not care what people think, she plays soccer because it is something that excites her, not for the people around her.
