Option number 3:
April and Emily both vary differently on how they respond to the stress of the spelling competition. April does not seem too optimistic and does not expect that much out of herself. Most of the time she doubted her abilities to win the competition. But still mentions that she is proud of how far she got, and the same goes for her parents. For Emily, she seems to deal with stress in way that she does not easily show it. She is awkward at times, and too over exited. She does not trust in herself that much, and she mentions often. Maybe her laughing and being awkward helps her overcome her stress. Emily knows how much stress she puts on herself, but still manages to have humor. The greatest dissimilarity between April and Emily is the way they act and present themselves to the people surrounding them. Every time April approaches the stage, she automatically becomes serious. She did not have a distinct expression on her face. When she gets a word right, she just walks back to her seat. She did not have any emotion showing her excitement of getting another word correct. As Emily approaches the stage she is smiling, when she gets a word right, she jumps and yells with joy. Her emotions express how accomplished she feels for getting to a certain point of the competition. Even though they both deal with stress in various ways, they still have the drive to compete in a way they are comfortable.
